Hydah Kilonzo

Board Member

Hydah currently serves as a School Nurse in a Public School in Northern New Jersey. Under that role, she manages/runs a comprehensive health office for a school population of over 400 students plus staff. As the school’s coordinator of a partnership with Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Hydah helps ensure that students in need have meals beyond school days/hours by providing weekend family packs. In addition, through a partnership with a local Hospital, she oversees students and staff training on disease prevention and management of chronic illnesses. As wellness committee chairperson, Hydah works with a team to promote self-care and wellness among the school’s population. Furthermore, Hydah serves as an educator at a local County College, training as well as evaluating students for healthcare professions. Her passion in promoting Health and Wellness is evident in what she does in and outside of her professional roles. Hydah enjoys volunteering at a local church’s children ministry and school, both in-person and virtually. A native of Kenya, Hydah migrated to the U. S in the early 2000’s. She attended college(s) in New Jersey, graduating with Master of Science in Nursing from Thomas Edison State University. Hydah is married to James and they are blessed with three amazing children: Nate, Zack, and Lizzy. During her spare time, Hydah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking, gardening, watching movies, and reading.
